Programs & Curriculums
Bolton Point Curriculum
At Bolton Point Child Care Centre, our educational program is guided by the Australian Government’s approved learning framework, Belonging, Being & Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) V2.0, which supports children’s learning, development and wellbeing from birth to five years of age.
We provide a play-based learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover, create and develop skills at their own pace. Our educators thoughtfully balance spontaneous learning opportunities with intentional teaching experiences to support each child’s interests, strengths and individual development.
Children participate in a wide range of experiences that help build confidence, resilience and important life skills. These may include road safety, fire safety, health and wellbeing, nutrition, personal safety, environmental awareness and community engagement.
Our programs are developed in partnership with children and families, recognising the importance of each child’s culture, background and unique learning journey. Educators regularly observe, document and reflect on children’s learning to ensure experiences remain meaningful, engaging and responsive.
Families are encouraged to engage with our daily journals, which are displayed in each room and provide a snapshot of the experiences, learning opportunities and activities children have participated in throughout the day. In addition, each child receives individual learning and development documentation twice a year, showcasing their progress, achievements and learning journey in relation to the Early Years Learning Framework outcomes.
Learning experiences are tailored to each child’s age, stage of development and interests within their room environment.
Belonging
At Bolton Point Child Care Centre, we recognise that a strong sense of belonging is fundamental to children’s wellbeing, learning and development. We strive to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child and family feels respected, valued and connected.
We acknowledge that children belong first to their families, cultures and communities, and we celebrate the diversity that each child brings to our centre. Through positive relationships with educators, peers and families, children develop a sense of security, confidence and identity.
By fostering respectful and supportive relationships, we help children build meaningful connections with others and develop an understanding of their place within the centre community and the wider world. These experiences lay the foundation for lifelong learning, wellbeing and a positive sense of self.
Being
At Bolton Point Child Care Centre, we recognise that childhood is a unique and important time in a child’s life. We value children for who they are today and provide opportunities for them to explore, discover and make sense of the world around them.
We support children to develop a strong sense of self by encouraging independence, confidence, creativity and positive relationships with others. Through play, exploration and meaningful interactions, children are able to express their ideas, interests and emotions while building important life skills.
We believe that the early years are not simply preparation for the future but are valuable in their own right. By embracing each child’s individual journey, we create an environment where children can enjoy the present, engage with new experiences and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Becoming
At Bolton Point Child Care Centre, we recognise that children are constantly growing, learning and developing. The early years are a time of rapid change as children build their knowledge, skills, confidence and understanding of the world around them.
We support each child’s individual learning journey by providing experiences that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, creativity and resilience. Through meaningful play, relationships and learning opportunities, children develop the skills and dispositions needed to become capable, confident and active participants in their communities.
We celebrate children’s achievements and recognise that every child develops at their own pace. By nurturing their strengths, interests and potential, we help children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning, wellbeing and future success.
